We are currently seeking a Controller for our Bicron facility in Torrington, CT. This role supports a single business unit and oversees key financial functions including close, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and performance analysis. The Controller partners closely with site leadership to deliver accurate financial insights and support strategic decision-making. This position reports to the Regional Controller, with a dotted-line relationship to the Site Leader/General Manager. The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, operational finance experience, and a proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment. Role:
The position of Controller will be responsible for planning, directing, and managing all aspects of financial operations for a single site. This role oversees month-end close, AP/AR, treasury, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis. During the course of a standard workday, you will partner closely with site leadership to deliver accurate financial insights, drive performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Close & Reporting Lead and manage the monthly closing process in accordance with established timelines, including: Review and approval of journal entries Oversight of balance sheet reconciliations Analysis of period-over-period variances Year-end close, E&O review, and lease accounting adjustments Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with
U.S. GAAP
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial reporting Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes in collaboration with department leaders Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions Develop and maintain financial models and performance metrics to support operational and strategic goals, including material purchases and margin analysis Operational & Business Partnership Serve as the primary financial partner to the Site Leader/General Manager and operations team Collaborate with operations to establish labor and overhead rates and analyze cost variances Provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and margin performance Support pricing strategies, capital investment decisions, and operational initiatives Controls, Compliance & Audit Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls Ensure compliance with
U.S. GAAP, SOX
requirements, and company policies Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors for the site Oversee annual physical inventory processes and reconciliation Leadership & Talent Development Lead, manage, and develop the site accounting team Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback Support professional development and succession planning within the team Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration Strategic & Special Projects Provide financial analysis to support site-level strategic initiatives, capital projects, and system implementations Lead and participate in cross-functional projects as assigned Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency gains Provides Financial Support to Site Leadership Partner with the Site Leader/General Manager on a regular cadence to understand business developments, key customer activities, and operational challenges Collaborate with Sales and Operations leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations Provide financial analysis and support for strategic decision-making, including capital expenditures and pricing strategies Assist in the preparation of monthly financial packages, quarterly reporting, and annual operating plans Assist with audits by providing required documentation and support. Qualifying Attributes and Skills Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred Minimum of seven (7) years of general ledger and financial reporting experience, including at least two (2) years in a leadership role Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance; IFRS knowledge a plus Demonstrated experience in cost accounting, margin analysis, and operational finance Strong understanding of internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance Advanced proficiency with financial systems (ERP) and Microsoft Office; Hyperion experience a plus Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and compliance Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Self-directed, results-oriented, and capable of working independently iNRCORE and its affiliated entities are an equal opportunity employer with a full suite of benefits offered to full-time employees.
