Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Finance Director to join our team in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting compliance with accounting standards. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in financial management and a keen eye for detail with nonprofit or non-municipality experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to support organizational decision-making.
  • Lead financial reporting efforts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies in financial data.
  • Oversee payroll and accounts payable operations to ensure smooth processing.
  • Perform cash flow analysis to optimize financial planning and management.
  • Coordinate audits and provide necessary documentation to meet compliance requirements.
  • Manage grant accounting processes, ensuring proper allocation and tracking.
  • Review/Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
