Job Overview The Encompass Group is proud to partner with a dynamic design and construction group that has a strong focus in church design and builds. Our client has been in the industry for years and is now looking to add a detail-oriented Controller to lead their financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting practices. As a key member of their finance team, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including compliance with regulatory standards, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape financial strategies within a vibrant organization committed to excellence and growth. Responsibilities Oversee job cost accounting and project financial performance, including budgeting, cost forecasting, margin analysis, and variance tracking across design and construction phases. Manage monthly close and financial reporting, ensuring timely, accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP and construction accounting standards (e.g., percentage‑of‑completion). Monitor cash flow, billing, and collections, including progress billings, change orders, retainage, and coordination with project managers to maintain healthy liquidity. Supervise accounting operations and internal controls, including AP/AR, payroll, subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and audit readiness. Partner with project management and operations leadership to provide financial insights, support bid reviews, and improve project profitability and risk management. Oversee compliance and regulatory requirements, such as bonding, insurance, tax filings (sales/use, payroll), and lender or surety reporting. Develop financial policies, forecasts, and strategic analysis to support growth, capital planning, and long‑term business decision‑making. Skills Extensive knowledge of

GAAP, IFRS, SOX

compliance, and governmental or non-profit accounting practices. Strong expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and account analysis. Proficiency with accounting software including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or equivalent financial management tools. Demonstrated ability in cash management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
