A hands-on, fully engaged, and roll-up-your-sleeves professional with integrity and a desire to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The Controller is a member of the exciting client services accounting department and the responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following for multiple clients: 1. Oversee the accounts payable process. 2. Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations. 3. Prepare accurate and complete monthly financial reporting on strict deadlines. 4. Prepare monthly funding requests and annual budgets with variance reporting. 5. Seafarer payroll administration. 6. Serve as the primary financial point of contact for client communication and inquiries. In addition to the above, the position requires: 1. Desire to be key contributor to the firm's success. 2. Strong leadership abilities with experience training, managing and mentoring staff. 3. Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance required. CPA and MBA preferred. 4. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. 5. Strong understanding of financial reporting and internal controls. 6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
