This is not a delegate-and-review role. You'll be in the general ledger, owning the month end close, digging into acquired-company data to identify questionable costs, and explaining variances directly to leadership. One staff accountant reports to you, with shared AR/AP support. What you'll own: Run the show on close: journal entries, monthly reporting packages, and account analysis that leadership actually reads and trusts Dig into the numbers behind two newly integrated product lines, spot the questionable costs before they become a problem, and know which questions to ask Own the annual budget and monthly forecasts, not just report on them after the fact Manage fixed assets and drive the capex request process for new equipment Get hands-on with inventory: reserves, obsolescence, cycle counts, and the judgment calls that come with a business this size Partner directly with Internal Audit to keep SOX controls tight without slowing the business down Work side by side with operations leadership on margin, efficiency, and scrap analysis, the kind of work that actually moves the P&L Build and own the standard cost structure and cost accounting policy as the business scales Lead on reporting: build it, refine it, and know who needs to see what and when What we're looking for: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, corporate or a strong combination of public and corporate Solid GAAP knowledge, including revenue recognition (think ASC 606, work recognized over time rather than only at shipment) Inventory accounting experience Required CPA preferred, and a meaningful factor in how far this role can grow Comfortable in Excel with large datasets. No macros required, just genuine analytical fluency Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus given cross-border operations
