About the Role MayMaan is seeking an experienced and highly strategic Director of Finance to lead the company's financial planning, analysis, reporting, and strategic finance activities. This hands-on leadership position requires strong financial and accounting expertise with significant experience in financial modeling, forecasting, investor relations, fundraising, Board reporting, and manufacturing finance. The Director of Finance will work closely with the CFO, CEO, executive leadership team, Board of Directors, and investors to provide the analysis, projections, reporting, and strategic insights necessary to support MayMaan's continued growth and commercialization. The ideal candidate has experience in a startup or high-growth environment, understands manufacturing finance, and has participated directly in fundraising or capital-raising initiatives. Clean energy or renewable energy experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Finance & Financial Planning
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning.
  • Develop sophisticated financial models supporting growth, manufacturing, commercialization, and capital requirements.
  • Prepare financial projections, cash-flow forecasts, scenario analyses, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Model strategic initiatives, manufacturing expansion, product economics, capital expenditures, and new business opportunities.
  • Analyze performance against budgets and forecasts and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to senior leadership. Fundraising & Investor Relations
  • Support fundraising and capital-raising activities.
  • Develop financial models, projections, analyses, and supporting materials for investors.
  • Prepare investor and fundraising presentations, financial summaries, and due diligence materials.
  • Participate in investor meetings and financial due diligence.
  • Respond to investor financial inquiries regarding performance, projections, capital requirements, and growth assumptions.
  • Maintain documentation required for financing transactions and investor due diligence.
  • Support evaluation of equity, debt, and other financing alternatives. Board of Directors
  • Prepare financial reports, analyses, forecasts, and presentation materials for Board meetings.
  • Develop Board-level reporting on financial performance, cash position, forecasts, capital requirements, and financial risks.
  • Assist management in communicating financial strategy, operating performance, and long-term outlook.
  • Provide follow-up analysis on financial matters raised by the Board. Manufacturing Finance & Operations
  • Partner with engineering, operations, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
  • Develop product cost models covering materials, labor, overhead, production costs, and gross margins.
  • Support manufacturing budgets, inventory planning, capital expenditures, and production scaling.
  • Analyze cost variances and opportunities to improve manufacturing economics.
  • Support make-versus-buy decisions, supplier negotiations, and capacity expansion. Financial Reporting & Controls
  • Oversee timely monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and other professionals.
  • Manage the annual audit process.
  • Ensure financial infrastructure evolves as the organization grows. Treasury, Cash Management & Capital Planning
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and capital requirements.
  • Maintain cash-flow forecasts and runway analyses.
  • Manage banking relationships and credit facilities.
  • Provide visibility into current and projected cash requirements.
  • Support capital allocation and long-term financing strategies. Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and related functions.
  • Ensure accurate month-end and year-end closing.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax and financial reporting requirements.
  • Maintain scalable financial systems, policies, and processes. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting organization.
  • Establish financial accountability across departments.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Establish scalable financial processes for a rapidly growing organization.
  • Foster accountability, analytical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and/or accounting experience with senior finance leadership experience.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, projections, and scenario-analysis experience.
  • Experience preparing financial information and presentations for Boards and senior executives.
  • Experience working directly with investors and supporting investor communications and due diligence.
  • Direct involvement in fundraising, capital raising, financing transactions, or similar initiatives.
  • Manufacturing-company experience, including product costing, inventory, and operational finance.
  • Startup, emerging-growth, or rapidly scaling company experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, accounting processes, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment. Preferred
  • CPA, CFA, MBA, or other relevant advanced credential.
  • Experience in clean energy, renewable energy, power generation, energy technology, or a related sector.
  • Experience with venture capital, private equity, institutional investors, or strategic corporate investors.
  • Experience supporting Series A, Series B, or other institutional fundraising rounds.
  • Financial modeling experience for manufacturing scale-up and commercialization.
  • Experience with M&A, strategic partnerships, licensing arrangements, or corporate development.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. Core Competencies
