Full-Time About Us DOGPerfect is a fast-growing, premium dog retail and wellness brand focused on delivering exceptional products and experiences for pet owners. Alongside our corporate operations, DOGPerfect Franchising is expanding nationally, supporting franchise partners with strong operational, financial, and brand systems. We are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to manage both the day-to-day accounting operations and overall financial strategy across our corporate and franchising businesses. Position Overview This role is both strategic and highly operational . The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial performance while also directly managing daily accounting activities. You will play a key role in building scalable financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting leadership with actionable insights. Key Responsibilities Day-to-Day Accounting Operations Manage daily accounting functions including AP/AR, general ledger, and reconciliations Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records Ensure proper coding of transactions and adherence to accounting policies Financial Management & Reporting Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Deliver timely and accurate reporting to leadership Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through financial analysis Franchise Financial Oversight Monitor franchisee financial performance and royalty reporting Build and maintain reporting tools to track franchise KPIs Support franchisees with financial guidance and best practices Budgeting & Forecasting Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations Support strategic planning and growth initiatives Systems & Process Improvement Improve accounting workflows and financial reporting processes Implement automation and scalable systems where appropriate Partner with operations to align financial and business metrics Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in retail, franchising, or multi-unit environments Proven experience handling both day-to-day accounting and financial oversight Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting/ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.) Experience in franchise or multi-location businesses is a strong plus Key Competencies Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration Why Join DOGPerfect Be part of a high-growth, entrepreneurial brand Opportunity to build and own the accounting and finance function Direct exposure to leadership and strategic decision-making Competitive compensation and growth potential
