Job Description

About the Role We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, and enjoys building and improving processes. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP (or IFRS, if applicable) Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies Partner with the CFO and leadership team on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors and tax advisors Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance metrics Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred) 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements Experience managing audits and working with external auditors Proficiency with accounting systems and ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with financial data Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
