9/80- Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off L3Harris is seeking a Principal Accountant/Assistant Sector Controller in the L3Harris Space and Mission Systems Segment, Maritime Sector. Reporting to the Maritime Sector Controller, this key position will contribute to the organization in the following ways:
Essential Functions:
  • Build and maintain relationships with business and financial leaders across the sector
  • Coordinate, communicate and track financial reporting requirements and deliverables for the Maritime Sector to ensure on-time delivery
  • Coordinate and review financial reporting deliverables for Maritime's 7 international business units during monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
  • Partner with Program Managers to review Estimates at Completion (EACs) on Fixed-Price (FFP) and Cost-Reimbursable (CPFF/CPIF) contracts.
  • Lead, coordinate or participate in process design and documentation, process improvements, segment and corporate initiatives, and other special projects
  • Support internal and external audits.
This includes supporting the DCAA, Statutory, U.S. GAAP Audits.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 12 years of accounting experience with Bachelor's or 10 years with Master's with comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
  • Experience in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast- close process with multiple, often competing, deadlines
  • Experience in a complex ERP environment with additional systems for reporting
  • Experience with facilitation with internal and external audits
Preferred Additional Skills:
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards is a plus CPA Certification preferred Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks to completion.
