Full Job Description Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with strategic and operational financial management including budget oversight, fiscal and grant compliance, cost-benefit analysis, and forecasting. Recommends and implements system improvements as needed. Provides financial insights and guidance to the CFO and Management team on critical financial and budgeting issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee financial and operational strategy aligning with organizational goals.

Assist with month-end close process:

prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. Support CFO with monthly financial reporting for the Board. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and compliance. Ensure alignment between financial, operational, and program objectives. Provide regular financial reports and update the CFO on finances and compliance progress. Help set up and monitor annual budget implementation. Assist in developing grant budgets for applications. Manage LAS accounting, financial, and grant systems operations. Oversee budgeting, implementation, tracking, and reconciliation; report financial status and metrics internally and externally. Ensure accounts, ledgers, and reporting comply with GAAP, regulations, and audit requirements. Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate audit activities. Monitor adherence to accounting rules including grant rules. Manage cash flow and forecasting for financial stability. Assist with annual audit process and resolve statutory auditor queries. Mentor and develop fiscal and compliance team including work allocation, training, and performance evaluation. Collaborate with Management Team and program staff to align financial, operational, and program goals. Perform additional duties as assigned by Executive Director, CFO, Supervisors, or grant requirements. Be adaptable to changes in duties or responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Hands-on, fully engaged, with ability to work in fast-paced and demanding environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical skills. Integrity. Deep understanding of and experience with financial statements. Thorough knowledge of cost accounting, indirect allocation methods, and best contract costing practices. Ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial professionals. Commitment to the organization's mission and social justice. Exceptional organizational skills. Must pass background check before employment begins due to funder requirements.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required; MBA preferred. At least 10 years' experience managing finance functions (accounting, budgeting, control, reporting) and compliance within a diverse division-based entity preferred. #HireFinder #
