Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, treasury management, and finance transformation initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to improve processes, lead teams, and drive system enhancements. A key priority for this position will be leading the organization's transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite ERP. The successful candidate will play a critical role in guiding the implementation, ensuring data integrity, optimizing finance processes, and supporting user adoption across the business. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Accounting Operations Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain the general ledger and oversee account reconciliations. Review financial results, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights. Ensure accounting transactions are properly recorded in accordance with accounting standards and company policies. Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts. Prepare management reports, financial analyses, KPIs, and performance dashboards. Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, profitability, and cash flow trends. Provide recommendations and strategic financial insights to support business decisions. Assist with annual budgeting and long-term planning initiatives. Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and financial governance processes. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies. Identify financial and operational risks and implement appropriate control measures. Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate annual audit activities. Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and recommendations. Cash Flow & Treasury Management Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements. Manage banking relationships and oversee bank reconciliations. Prepare cash-flow forecasts and funding analyses. Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management activities. Identify opportunities to improve cash management and operational efficiency. ERP Implementation & Process Improvement Lead the migration from QuickBooks to NetSuite ERP, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal business disruption. Partner with internal stakeholders and external implementation partners to manage project planning, system configuration, testing, training, and deployment. Design improved financial processes and workflows utilizing NetSuite capabilities. Enhance reporting, automation, controls, and operational effectiveness through system optimization. Serve as the finance lead for future system enhancements and technology initiatives. Leadership & Team Development Supervise and mentor accounting and finance team members. Establish performance expectations, accountability measures, and development plans. Review staff work product and maintain high standards of quality and accuracy. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional growth. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA designation required. 5-10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including management or supervisory responsibilities. Strong background in financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Experience managing audits, tax compliance, and statutory reporting. Proven experience with ERP and accounting systems. Hands-on experience leading or supporting a QuickBooks to NetSuite ERP implementation is required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial systems proficiency. Experience improving financial processes, controls, and reporting capabilities.
