Empath Health is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Finance , CPA that will work closely with our CFO to help direct the strategic financial operations of the organization. This individual will be a mission‑driven financial executive with deep healthcare leadership experience—ideally in hospice, home health, or a large health system and will serve as our next Vice President of Finance. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience leading finance functions within complex, $1B+ healthcare organizations and has a strong track record navigating growth, M&A activity, and organizational change. This highly visible role requires exceptional executive presence, the ability to present confidently to the Board, and the capability to serve as a potential successor to the CFO. This leader will play a critical role in shaping Empath Health's financial strategy, operational excellence, and future growth. What you'll Do Provide strategic financial leadership across accounting, budgeting, cash management, receivables, A/P, payroll, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with Empath's mission and organizational goals. Lead a large, multi‑layered finance organization (4 direct reports, ~100 indirect) through ongoing restructuring, optimization, and future‑state team design during the first six months. Deliver timely, accurate financial analyses, forecasts, and Board‑ready presentations; offer insights and recommendations that support executive decision‑making. Oversee compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, internal controls, and all federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Direct and support financial operations during significant organizational growth, including M&A activity and integration of new service lines. What You'll Need CPA Required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; CPA required. Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred. Experience with Finance, Accounting, Receivables, A/P, Payroll etc. Extensive executive‑level healthcare finance experience with proven leadership in hospice, home health, or large health systems. Healthcare experience required. Track record of leading finance operations in organizations of $750- $1 billion+ in size, with experience navigating large‑scale growth, M&A activity, and organizational change. Demonstrated success building and leading large teams, including multi‑layered structures with significant indirect reporting lines. Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with the Board, senior leadership, and cross‑functional teams. On-site/Hybrid.
