Full Job Description Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller (Civil/Infrastructure and Commercial) to support the Controller in managing the financial operations of a civil/infrastructure and commercial construction company. This role offers the opportunity to take a leadership position in a dynamic construction environment with direct impact on financial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with monthly financial statements and internal management reporting Prepare and analyze job profit sheets, including job cost tracking Lead the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness Monitor and reconcile job costs across labor, materials, and equipment Track and manage inventory, including dirt and road materials Oversee equipment inventory and related debt tracking Partner with operations to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting Identify and implement process improvements across accounting functions

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 7+ years of accounting experience; construction accounting preferred Experience with job costing and WIP reporting required Familiarity with sitework or heavy civil construction is highly desirable Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Confident, hands-on professional who can take ownership of the close process Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communicator who can work across accounting and operations Process-minded with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement
