$120,000 - $130,000 per year Job Details - We are seeking a VP of Finance & Administration to lead the accounting, finance, and key administrative functions of a growing privately held organization. This position is being created as part of a planned succession process, providing the incoming executive with an opportunity to work alongside the current finance leader before assuming full responsibility for the function. Reporting directly to the President, the VP of Finance & Administration will serve as both the senior financial leader of the organization and a key member of the executive leadership team. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting and financial management skills with the ability to think strategically, lead people, improve processes, and support a growing and increasingly complex organization.Responsibilities include:
Lead the monthly and year-end financial close process Oversee preparation of financial statements and management reporting Provide financial reporting and analysis to the President and ownership Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial planning Develop and monitor cash-flow forecasts and working-capital requirements Track EBITDA, operating performance, margins, and budget-to-actual results Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and lines of credit Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, billing, payroll, and bank reconciliations Establish and maintain strong accounting policies and internal controls Monitor inventory, product costs, operational margins, and inventory reconciliations Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external tax and accounting advisors Lead annual audit activities Manage fixed assets, capital expenditures, and investment analysis Support insurance, risk-management, licensing, and regulatory requirements Partner with leadership on HR, benefits, payroll, and administrative matters Develop financial dashboards and reporting that improve business visibility Evaluate processes that can be automated, simplified, or improved Maintain strong relationships with banks, lenders, CPAs, insurance providers, attorneys, and other key outside partners Support financial due diligence and modeling for potential acquisitions Assist with acquisition financing, integration, and post-acquisition financial reporting Participate in strategic planning, capital allocation, and organizational decision-making Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting and administrative team Qualifications 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience preferred 5+ years of accounting/finance leadership experience preferred Previous Controller, Director of Finance, VP Finance, or comparable experience Experience managing the financial function of a privately held or entrepreneurial organization Strong understanding of financial statements, GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls Experience managing or developing accounting personnel Strong Excel and financial-analysis skills QuickBooks or comparable accounting-system experience Ability to operate strategically while remaining willing to work hands-on Strong communication skills and ability to partner directly with senior leadership Preferred Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field CPA, CMA, and/or MBA Acquisition, due diligence, or integration experience Multi-location operations Distribution, transportation, fuel/energy, construction materials, HVAC, field services, or similar operational industries Fuel, excise, sales, or multi-state tax exposure Banking and treasury management Insurance and risk-management oversight A bit about us: - We are working with a well-established and rapidly growing privately held organization that has experienced significant expansion over the past several years.
