Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. This is a contract-to-permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to oversee critical financial operations and contribute to the organization's overall success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and compliance, with a keen eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review ledger entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain and oversee the general ledger system, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while assisting with regulatory reporting as required.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Develop and analyze financial reports to provide insights into the organization's financial health and future needs.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including budget preparation and reporting.
  • Present comprehensive financial reports to the board of directors during quarterly meetings.
  • Manage the loan management system, making necessary adjustments based on loan file changes.
  • Assist with audits, including external and loan program audits, and prepare grant reports to ensure timely submissions.
