Job Description
PM Hotel Group is looking for a Director of Finance to oversee the accounting functions for the Queen Kapiolani Hotel and support the Hawaii Accounting teams. This position will be responsible for overseeing all functions of the Accounting Departments including directing, training and supervising all accounting-related activities and utilizing strategic thinking to maintain and develop managers and managers to achieve goals. Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee all accounting and financial operations for Queen Kapiolani Hotel. Manage all hotel revenues, cash controls, banking relationships, and financial reporting activities. Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard company assets. Supervise and develop the Accounting Department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Accounting. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and variance reports. Perform month-end closing procedures, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and account analyses. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the General Manager, and corporate leadership. Assist department leaders in budget preparation and financial planning. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, brand, and company accounting policies and procedures. Maintain accounting records, contracts, payroll documentation, and other financial files in accordance with company guidelines. Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and develop accounting associates. Support annual audits and respond to requests from ownership, auditors, and corporate accounting. Complete special projects and assignments as requested by the General Manager or corporate leadership. Support hotel safety initiatives and comply with all emergency procedures and hotel standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or 10 years previous hotel experience is required. Minimum four years' progressive hotel accounting management experience; luxury or full-service hotel experience preferred. Brand and independent hotel experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of hospitality accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and internal controls. Experience managing month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Desired Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and team development skills. Possess a courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Reliable attendance and punctuality. The projected annual salary range for this position is between $95,000 and $105,000.00. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements.
