Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead core accounting operations and strengthen financial oversight for our organization in West Burlington, Iowa. This role will manage critical reporting cycles, maintain accurate reconciliations, and support healthy banking and cash management practices. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to keep financial processes organized, timely, and reliable.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct the monthly closing process and ensure financial records are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Oversee bank account reconciliations and investigate variances to resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor cash position, forecast short-term liquidity needs, and help guide effective cash flow planning.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for banking partners and maintain productive external financial relationships.
  • Coordinate audit preparation activities by organizing documentation and supporting requests from internal or external auditors.
  • Strengthen accounting controls and recommend process improvements that support accuracy and compliance. Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
  • Strong background in month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
  • Hands-on expertise with balance sheet reconciliations and bank account reconciliation processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cash flow oversight and treasury-related activities.
  • Experience working directly with business banking partners and financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with audit support, documentation readiness, and compliance-focused accounting practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
