Main Purpose of the Role The Area Vice President (AVP), Vessel Closure (West) is responsible for leading a high-performing commercial organization to drive growth, market leadership, and customer success across the West geography. Reporting to the Divisional Vice President, this leader will execute franchise strategies, develop top talent, strengthen customer partnerships, and deliver sustainable business results while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Main Responsibilities Develop and execute area business plans to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability objectives. Lead adoption and growth of Abbott's Vessel Closure franchise through effective sales execution and customer engagement. Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team while building a strong leadership pipeline and succession bench. Drive accountability through forecasting, performance management, and data-driven decision-making. Build strategic relationships with customers, health systems, and key stakeholders to advance business objectives and improve customer outcomes. Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Medical Education, Clinical Affairs, and Enterprise Accounts to execute franchise priorities and growth initiatives. Champion Abbott's Operating Principles and ensure the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and integrity. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. 15+ years of commercial, sales, or business leadership experience. 5+ years of experience leading leaders and managing high-performing teams. Proven track record of delivering business growth and achieving financial objectives. Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities. Ability to travel 50-75%. Preferred Qualifications MBA or other advanced degree. Medical device or healthcare industry leadership experience. Experience leading large geographic teams within a clinically focused commercial organization. Demonstrated success driving organizational performance through talent development, cross-functional collaboration, and customer-focused growth strategies. The base pay for this position is $149,300.00 - $298,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
