Job Description

Description The Vice President (VP) Physician Services provides strategic direction and operational leadership in collaboration with the physician leaders of stand-alone or multi-faceted clinics. Develops and manages the clinic leadership team to ensure that team members are qualified to provide excellent patient care. Identifies, develops, and supports performance metrics that align with JCH strategies and goals. Works collaboratively with leaders to develop department/division initiatives and policies and procedures that focus on employee engagement, meeting financial/business performance objectives, process improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction, quality, and workplace safety. Works closely with division leaders, clinic leaders, and team members to adjust methods and approaches to achieve targets and improve outcomes. The VP Physician Services reports directly to the CEO and may have several direct reports including the Director of Medical Group Operations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Effectively manages team members in a manner consistent with JCH mission, policies and values. Ensures the recruitment and retention of competent team members to meet the needs of the business operations of the department. Is accountable for daily activities and work processes that result in quality outcomes. Oversees and ensures accuracy of time and attendance and payroll practices. Manages team member and provider engagement, clinical quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. Collaborates with leaders to create and execute clinic business strategies that align with JCH goals and strategies. Formulates forecasts that support the division's financial goal, and monitors daily, weekly, and monthly performance. Ensures that effective plans are in place to meet targets. In partnership with physician lead and other team leaders, manages the onboarding and development of providers and team members. Develops performance expectations, and coaches, evaluates, and motivates team members. Investigates complaints and performance concerns. Provides analysis of scorecard and other appropriate data to physicians and team members. Identifies opportunities for improvement to deliver highest quality clinical and service outcomes. Leads initiatives to work safely to prevent injuries and ensure an ethical, non-discriminatory, and safe work environment. Represents JCH within the communities. Establishes a collaborative working relationship with community members to enhance the role and awareness of the clinics in the communities it serves. Encourages community involvement by initiating participation in health fairs and events to promote awareness of clinic services. Develops, secures approval of and implements clinic policies and procedures. Delegates authority and responsibility to management team members. Develops improved management techniques and practices. Other duties as assigned. Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field or business administration Advanced training and/or experience in Medical Management, Healthcare Law and/or quality improvement preferred Five years of progressive responsibility in a healthcare setting; rural health and outpatient clinic experience preferred Three plus years of leadership experience to include leading teams and/or projects
COMPETENCIES
Ability to relate well to a variety of individuals and have a track record of being a team player. Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated skills in quality improvement development, motivation of leadership staff and ability to conduct meetings effectively. Demonstrated success leading physicians to greater efficiency while improving quality, superior interpersonal skills, financial aptitude, and analytical skills. Understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards and the issues and principles of healthcare laws and regulations. Familiarity medical staff organization, credentialing and bylaws. Proficiency in healthcare information systems and technology. High integrity, honesty, with strong work ethics and proactive problem-solving skills. Maintain strict confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility Travel to offsite locations
