Job Description:

Position Summary - 3 days onsite We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to join a global manufacturing organization in Vernon Hills. This role is responsible for leading all accounting and financial operations for the site, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and meaningful financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making. The Controller will act as a key business partner to plant leadership, helping drive profitability, efficiency, and cost discipline across manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and analyze financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting Manage plant-level budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Lead cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls Support audits and maintain strong internal control environment Partner with operations, supply chain, and plant leadership to drive cost improvements and operational efficiency Help with Tax matters Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and capital expenditure tracking Lead and develop accounting staff (AP/AR/cost accounting, as applicable) Drive ERP utilization, reporting improvements, and process automation initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred) 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing or distribution exposure Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of general accounting and financial reporting Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment ERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) Strong leadership, communication, and business partnering skills What We Offer Competitive salary: $130K-$155K base Bonus opportunity based on company and individual performance Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Opportunity to join a stable and global manufacturing organization with strong operational investment
