Type:

full-time Our client is looking for an Assistant Controller to support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company while helping ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role will supervise two accountants and work closely with leadership on month-end close, reporting, budgeting, and process improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to grow into a future Controller position over time. The company is seeking someone who is hands-on, collaborative, and interested in developing their leadership and operational finance experience within a growing organization. Responsibilities Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation Help maintain accurate general ledger activity and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures Support budgeting and forecasting activities in partnership with operational leaders Review financial data and assist with analysis for management reporting Assist with preparation for annual audits and support external auditors as needed Support tax filings, compliance reporting, and other routine accounting functions Supervise and mentor two accountants, providing guidance and support in daily responsibilities Help prioritize workloads and improve efficiency within the accounting function Assist in developing and improving accounting processes, controls, and reporting tools Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams to support business objectives Contribute to ongoing system improvements and automation initiatives within accounting and finance Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA required 3+ years of accounting experience required Some supervisory or leadership exposure preferred Experience with month-end close and financial reporting Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Construction or project-based accounting experience is a plus but not required
