Reporting Structure Accountable to:
Senior Minister Partners with: Ministry Team Accountable for: Bookkeeper, volunteer ministry teams Role Summary The Operations and Finance Director is a full-time, salaried position responsible for overseeing the church's (including our preschool's) financial stewardship, daily operations, and facility management. This role ensures that the church's physical and financial resources are managed efficiently, safely, and transparently to support the church's ministry and mission. Finance Responsibilities Manage all daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial recordkeeping through the church's management database. Oversee the secure collection, processing, recording, reconciliation, and reporting of tithes, offerings, and online donations through our church management system, Elexio. Process bi-weekly staff payroll, ensuring accurate payroll records, tax withholdings, filings, and administration of employee benefits. Assist church leadership and finance committees in developing the annual operating budget and prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure financial practices comply with generally accepted accounting principles, applicable laws and regulations, and requirements governing nonprofit and religious organizations. Serve as the primary contact for annual financial reviews and audits. Work with Finance Committee and Ministry Team to develop vehicles, such as an annual report, to communicate our church's financial health, needs, and goals to the congregation with clarity, transparency, and regularity. Operations Responsibilities Oversee the maintenance, cleaning, repair, and upkeep of all church buildings, facilities, mechanical systems, and grounds, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, utilizing volunteers when prudent and possible. Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts with external vendors, including janitorial, landscaping, waste management, and specialized maintenance and repair providers. Coordinate with Executive Ministry Assistant our facility use, room setups, and scheduling for ministries, weddings, funerals, and approved community rentals. Maintain an accurate inventory of church property, equipment, and other assets, and develop plans for long-term maintenance, replacement, and capital needs. Develop, implement, and maintain church safety, security, fire prevention, and emergency preparedness protocols to provide a safe environment for members, staff, and guests. Manage the church's property and liability insurance policies, including renewals, documentation, and coordination of claims. Serve as an administrator for the church's management software, maintaining appropriate staff access, data integrity, security, and system functionality. Recruit, coordinate, and inspire volunteers to assist with building maintenance and groundskeeping, ensuring our facilities remain welcoming, safe, and well-cared-for as a reflection of our church's mission and hospitality. Supervise and support the staff bookkeeper and volunteers, providing clear direction, accountability, training, and encouragement while modeling servant leadership as taught by Jesus in Luke 22:25-27. Qualifications and Expectations Be a member of Outlook Christian Church, or be willing to become a member, and demonstrate alignment with the church's mission, vision, and values. Be present and available for 48 Sundays each year, excluding mission trips, service opportunities, retreats, sabbatical time, and conferences, with occasional evening availability as ministry and job responsibilities require. Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive financial, personnel, pastoral, and organizational information. Demonstrate strong verbal, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively and graciously with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and roles. Demonstrate a servant's heart and a commitment to leading and serving others with humility, integrity, and a Christ-centered attitude.

$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
