$120,000 – $160,000 + Bonus Potential About the Opportunity We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Controller to lead our accounting and finance function in South Bend, Indiana. This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys building strong teams while driving financial performance. The ideal candidate has demonstrated career progression, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to balance hands-on execution with long-term strategic planning. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor the accounting team while overseeing all day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous professional development. Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, delivering timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Provide strategic financial leadership by partnering with executive management on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial analysis, and business planning initiatives. Develop and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and scalability. Oversee high-volume accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Coordinate annual audits, tax support, and compliance activities while serving as the primary contact for external auditors and business partners. Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations that support organizational growth and profitability. Foster a collaborative, accountable culture while developing talent and preparing the department for future growth. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred. Minimum 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience , with a proven record of career advancement into leadership roles. Demonstrated success leading accounting teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment . Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and month-end close. Strategic, visionary leader with the ability to influence decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
