A Day in This Role You start your morning with the pulse of the plant: reviewing yesterday's shipments and product sales, scanning inventory movements, and capturing daily production and material usage. By mid-morning, you're shaping these insights into clear internal business unit reports—weekly expense snapshots, monthly rollups, and progress updates on capital and major repair projects. In the afternoon, you're side-by-side with the Controller, preparing month-end schedules, running variance analyses, and turning ad hoc questions into succinct answers. Before you wrap, you oversee payroll preparation to ensure accurate and timely processing. How You'll Make an Impact Partner with the Controller on month-end preparation, analysis, and reporting. Develop internal business unit reporting, including: Daily reviews of shipments and product sales. Daily inventory movement monitoring. Weekly and monthly expense reporting. Capital and major repair project reporting. Ad hoc reporting and variance analysis. Daily production number collection and reporting. Daily material usage collection. Oversee preparation of payroll. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Exceptional organization, teamwork, and communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail. Solid understanding of accounting principles and internal controls. High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Bonus Points 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing. Experience with SAP or comparable ERP systems. Background in budgets, projections, and variance analysis. Hands-on with general ledger, journal entries, and monthly/quarterly/annual close. Experience preparing hourly payroll reports and calculations, plus working knowledge of payroll rules and guidelines.
