Controller

Description We are looking for a Controller to join our team in Lenexa, Kansas. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction accounting, including expertise in work-in-progress and percentage-of-completion methods. This role is an excellent opportunity to oversee comprehensive financial processes and contribute to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Utilize work-in-progress and percentage-of-completion accounting methods to track and report project performance.
• Collaborate with project managers to analyze financial data and provide insights into project budgets and forecasts.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Review and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and consistency across all accounts.
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff to support their growth and attention to detail.
• Monitor cash flow and manage financial planning to support business operations.
• Work closely with external auditors during financial reviews and audits. Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on the construction industry.
• Proficiency in work-in-progress and percentage-of-completion accounting methods.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team.
