Job Description
Job Overview The Assistant Controller supports the accounting and finance functions of the bank, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with applicable regulations. The role works closely with leadership and may assist in overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvements. Responsibilities Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Support general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations. Help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls. Participate in audits and regulatory exams. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Support process improvement initiatives within the accounting function. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information. Provide backup/support for other accounting functions as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 3+ years of accounting experience; banking or financial institution experience preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills. Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a dynamic environment.
