We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Controller to lead the corporate accounting operations and help drive the continued financial success of the organization. Position Summary The Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for the dealership. This leadership role requires a seasoned professional who can manage corporate office personnel, maintain the integrity of financial data, and ensure all month-end and year-end close processes are executed with accuracy and timeliness. The ideal candidate will bring deep dealership accounting expertise and will serve as a key financial partner to upper management. Key Responsibilities Maintain and review all company accounting schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness Monitor and issue the Daily Cash Report and Floor Plan Payoff Sheet Complete assigned month-end tasks and oversee the closing of Financial Statements Process accident/insurance reports and manage retail and fleet Floor Plan Assistance Perform check signing duties as required Manage corporate office personnel by conducting weekly one-on-one meetings to monitor workflow and resolve issues Oversee CIT reports, AR aging, and ensure schedules remain in good standing on a consistent basis Coordinate and manage the month-end close process from start to finish, ultimately with full ownership Monitor and clean accounting schedules on a monthly basis Oversee vehicle operations including stocking, flooring, dealer trades, floor plan payoffs, and inventory reconciliation Supervise all deal workflows: new/used deal processing, title work, heat sheet resolution, and sales communication Manage AP processing, credit card reconciliations, and money bag processes Oversee A/R with Fixed Ops team and manage merchant account setup and reconciliation Complete Financial Statement submissions to manufacturing and oversee trend and equity report analysis Develop and implement a cross-training plan for all corporate office team members Perform all other duties as assigned by management Requirements Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Controller in an automotive dealership setting — this is a firm requirement Prior Ford dealership experience is a plus Proven ability to fully own and manage the month-end close process Strong working knowledge of dealership accounting systems Demonstrated expertise in financial statement preparation, schedule cleaning, and floor plan management Solid understanding of deal workflow (new and used), vehicle inventory reconciliation, and AP processes Experience managing and developing corporate office staff Familiarity with HR/payroll platforms Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with sales, fixed ops, and leadership
