Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Finance and Operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the organization's financial health, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements while driving operational excellence. Your expertise will guide strategic planning, financial management, and risk mitigation efforts, empowering the organization to achieve its mission with confidence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team, influence organizational growth, and foster a culture of fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and compliance management under GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Manage treasury functions such as cash flow analysis, investment management, and risk analysis to optimize financial resources. Ensure accurate financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and timely preparation of reports for stakeholders and regulatory agencies. Supervise accounting operations including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, cost accounting, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation. Implement robust risk management practices to identify potential financial or operational risks and develop mitigation strategies. Drive business development initiatives by providing strategic financial insights that support growth opportunities and revenue management. Oversee compliance with regulatory reporting requirements specific to non-profit or governmental entities as applicable. Lead the finance team in utilizing financial software for efficient bookkeeping, cost control, and financial analysis. Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning initiatives to align operational activities with organizational objectives. Experience Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles such as CFO or Finance Director within non-profit or governmental sectors preferred. Extensive knowledge of IAS (International Accounting Standards), IFRS, GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, and technical accounting principles. Strong background in corporate finance, cost management, budget development, forecasting, and investment management. Demonstrated expertise in risk analysis, risk management strategies, and compliance management across diverse regulatory environments. Experience managing treasury functions including cash flow analysis and investment strategies. Proficiency with financial software systems for general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable processing, and financial reporting tools. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and communicate complex financial concepts clearly. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial statement interpretation, profit & loss analysis, and fiscal management.
