QES is seeking an experienced Controller to play a critical role in guiding our financial operations and supporting our mission of delivering exceptional engineering, surveying, program management, and landscape architecture services. As our Controller, you'll help safeguard the company's financial health while supporting sustainable growth across our civil engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying practices. What You'll Do Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and job costing Prepare accurate financial statements, forecasts, and performance metrics for leadership Lead budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance Coordinate audits, tax filings, and external financial reporting Partner with project managers to monitor budgets, billing, and profitability Mentor and lead accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability Drive continuous improvement in accounting systems, processes, and reporting What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA strongly preferred) 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-5 years in a Controller or senior leadership role Experience in the AEC or professional services industry preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting Proficiency with accounting software (Deltek Ajera a plus) and MS Office Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills The QES Advantage As a Controller at QES, you will: Lead critical financial stewardship for a growing, respected firm Influence operational excellence and long-term strategy Work within a culture grounded in integrity, accountability, and trust Grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on employees, clients, and community At QES, you'll find more than a job-you'll build a career with purpose.
