In this role, you will manage all accounting activities, including financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in healthcare financial management and must possess advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) . You will serve as a key strategic partner to management, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and optimized cash flow to support high-quality patient care.
Oversee all daily accounting operations, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and revenue recognition. Maintain the clinic's books using QuickBooks Online with meticulous accuracy.
Month-End & Year-End Close:
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with GAAP.
Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Oversight:
Partner closely with the billing department/vendor to monitor insurance claims, patient copays, deductibles, and aging AR. Ensure medical billing data bridges accurately into QuickBooks Online.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Develop annual operating budgets, monitor variances, and provide leadership with actionable financial forecasting.
Payroll & Compensation Tracking:
Oversee or process full-cycle payroll, ensuring accurate tracking of provider productivity, bonuses, and healthcare benefits.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal medical regulations, tax laws, and HIPAA. Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls to safeguard clinic assets.
Required Qualifications & Skills Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (CPA or CMA designation is a strong plus).
Experience:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a healthcare facility, medical clinic, or multi-specialty practice setting .
Software Mastery:
Expert-level experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is mandatory. Experience syncing QBO with Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Practice Management (PM) software is highly preferred.
Healthcare Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of medical billing, insurance reimbursement models (PPO, HMO, Medicare), and the healthcare revenue cycle.
Analytical Skills:
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and a knack for identifying cost-saving opportunities and process inefficiencies.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with medical providers, administrative staff, and external auditors.
