Position Summary The Controller will be responsible for the integrity and execution of the company's full-cycle accounting function across multiple real estate and development entities. This role requires strong technical expertise in general ledger management, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and cash management, with an emphasis on accuracy and consistency. The individual will oversee the monthly close process, validate financial data prepared both internally and by external partners, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
Key Responsibilities:
Assume full ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting, ensuring complete accuracy and reliability across multiple entities. Stabilize and strengthen the accounting function in the near term, identifying inconsistencies, resolving errors, and establishing clear, repeatable processes that create confidence in the company's financial data. Lead the monthly and year-end close processes, coordinating with external accounting partners to ensure timely, accurate reporting and well-documented outputs. Own cash management and liquidity visibility, including weekly cash reporting, forecasting, and intercompany fund management, ensuring leadership has a clear and accurate view of financial position at all times.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally in a project-based, or a multi-entity environment Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, payroll processes, and month-end close Experience with construction accounting, including Construction Loan Administration & Draw Management is preferred
