Responsibilities Direct and oversee the company's accounting and financial reporting functions. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare and review accurate financial statements and management reports. Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliations. Oversee accounting related to real estate investments, properties, and operating entities. Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors and other outside professionals. Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Provide financial analysis and insight to senior leadership and ownership to support business decisions. Prepare financial reports and presentations for ownership and leadership. Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to accounting staff. Participate in acquisitions, development projects, financing activities, and other strategic initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience. Prior Controller or senior-level accounting experience preferred. Real estate accounting experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with executives and ownership. Ability to balance hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic financial oversight.
