Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on Controller to support a fast-growing organization with expanding and increasingly complex operations. This role is a key member of the business operations team, responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, job costing, and cash flow management. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, growth-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Tax & Compliance Manage sales tax filings across multiple states using Avalara Oversee business registrations for sales tax, income tax, and remote employees Coordinate federal, state, and Canadian tax filings with external advisors Support quarterly estimated tax payments and year-end tax preparation Identify and apply for applicable tax credits and incentive programs Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare and maintain monthly financial reporting packages Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable Track overhead expenses, including billable vs. non-billable labor Manage project accounting and job close-out reporting Ensure accuracy of financials through month-end close review and reconciliation Leadership & Process Improvement Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline financial operations Support strategic decisions related to accounting systems, banking, and financial tools Prepare subcontractor financial reporting for government contracts Operations & Team Support Provide hands-on support to accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, and reconciliations Assist with job costing and financial performance analysis of projects Provide coverage for accounting staff during peak periods or absences Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of experience in accounting, forecasting, and job costing Strong knowledge of
U.S. GAAP
