Director of Finance Location:
Columbia, MD (100% In-Office)
Compensation:
Up to $200,000 Base Salary (based on experience) A growing organization is seeking a Director of Finance to lead accounting and finance operations and serve as a key member of the leadership team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys partnering with executives, developing staff, improving processes, and helping drive business growth. The right candidate will bring strong accounting and financial leadership experience, a collaborative management style, and the desire to grow with the organization. Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day accounting and finance functions. Manage the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting. Prepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range financial plans. Partner with operational leaders to provide financial analysis and support strategic decision-making. Oversee revenue recognition, contract billing, project reporting, and cash flow management. Prepare and present financial information to executive leadership. Coordinate annual audits and support compliance initiatives. Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting and finance team. Drive process improvements and help build scalable financial infrastructure. Support business growth initiatives, proposal pricing, and strategic planning efforts. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or Master's degree required. 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience. Prior experience leading and developing teams. Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Experience working in a complex business environment with multiple stakeholders. Government contracting experience is preferred but not required. Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus but not required. Strong Excel and ERP system experience. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both executive leadership and operational teams. Why Consider This Opportunity?
