Controller | Strategic Financial Leader One Stop Home Repair • Orono, Maine This Isn't a Traditional Controller Position. One Stop Home Repair is seeking a Controller | Strategic Financial Leader to become a key member of our leadership team. This role goes far beyond accounting. We're looking for someone who can transform financial information into better decisions, help improve operational performance, and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of our employee-owned company. You'll work directly with the President and leadership team, influencing decisions that affect every area of the business—from profitability and cash flow to operational efficiency and long-term growth. Over the next three to five years, we're focused on: Growing our service and remodeling divisions responsibly Improving operational efficiency through technology and data Strengthening job costing and profitability management Developing leaders throughout the organization Building a scalable business that creates lasting value for our customers and our employee-owners We're looking for a financial leader who wants to help build that future—not simply report on it. Why This Position Matters The Controller is one of the most influential leadership positions in our company. Your work won't end with financial statements. You'll help leadership understand what the numbers mean, identify opportunities for improvement, challenge assumptions, and guide decisions that strengthen the business. Your ability to analyze financial performance, improve systems, and support operational excellence will directly impact profitability, cash flow, growth, and the long-term success of our employee-owned company. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll both lead and execute. You'll be expected to build strong financial processes while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. What You'll Help Lead As our Strategic Financial Leader, you'll partner with leadership to: Improve profitability through financial analysis and business insight Develop meaningful KPIs and performance dashboards Strengthen budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Improve job costing and gross margin reporting Support strategic planning and long-range business decisions Identify operational efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities Develop scalable accounting systems and internal controls Provide decision support for pricing, staffing, investments, and growth initiatives Lead the accounting function while serving as a trusted business partner across the organization What Success Looks Like During Your First Year Within your first year, you'll have helped us achieve measurable improvements such as: Faster and more accurate month-end financial close Improved visibility into job costing and gross margins Better KPI reporting for leadership and operations More reliable cash flow forecasting Stronger internal controls and accounting processes Actionable financial insights that improve business performance Trusted partnership with leadership in making strategic decisions What We're Looking For We're searching for a business leader who happens to be an outstanding accountant.
