Principal/Superintendent Job Summary:
Henry Ford Academy is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Finance and Operations (ADFO) to support the management of the day to day finance and operations of the Academy. This individual will develop and maintain systems for managing financial data and records. This individual is responsible for the management and implementation of the school lunch program and annual lottery and application process, with support from the Director of Finance, Operations and Strategic Planning. This individual is responsible for accounts payable and receivable, preparing checks for signatures, maintaining financial data, vendor relations and financial processing. This position requires a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains strict confidentiality, and demonstrates exceptional communication and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities Assistant Director of Finance and Operations shall perform all duties as assigned by the Academy, adhere to all Academy policies and procedures as may be in effect at any time during ADFO's employment, and comply with and meet all deadlines required by the state, federal and other applicable laws with respect to the Academy's operations and financial well-being and/or employee's performance of his/her duties. THe ADFO will report to the Director of Finance and Operations or his/her designee with duties that shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following: Financial Management Process material and supplies request and monitor purchasing budgets as assigned Process authorized invoices for accounts payable and prepare signed checks for mailing Maintain audit ready documentation: material request, packaging slip, check copy Assist in cash flow management and banking relationships. Monitor and reconcile financial accounts. Coordinate record retention and financial documentation. Assist with procurement and purchasing compliance. Support the year-end audit process and coordinate requests from auditors. Operations Management Lead annual lottery and application process Support the administration of school operations, facilities, and support services. Assist in coordinating maintenance, repairs, and capital improvement projects. Monitor contracts and vendor performance. Support transportation, food service, technology, and facility operations as assigned. Assist in emergency preparedness and operational continuity planning. Manage office supply inventory for museum and village campus Coordinate facilities and maintenance requests for Academy Evaluate vendor proposals and contracts. Maintain purchasing records and documentation.
SNP Coordinator Manage School Breakfast and Lunch Program:
applications and student accounts. Coordinate and oversee the daily operation of the school breakfast, lunch, snack, and other nutrition programs. Ensure compliance with all requirements established by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), USDA, and local health departments. Maintain accurate meal service records and documentation required for state and federal reimbursement. Assist with preparation and submission of required reports and claims for reimbursement. Maintain records related to meal counts, production records, inventories, free and reduced-price meal eligibility, and audits. Prepare for and assist with Administrative Reviews conducted by the Michigan Department of Education. Ensure confidentiality of student meal eligibility information. Maintain communication with families and update the school website with SNP information Other Duties as
Assigned:
As a member of a collaborative and student-centered school community, the Assistant Director of Finance and Operations may be asked to perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the mission and vision of Henry Ford Academy.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred. - 3+ years of financial and/or operations management experience, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information, as well as high ethical standards and integrity. Experience managing student enrollment systems and databases, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.. Familiarity with K-12 school operations and compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Ability to relate positively to students, parents, community and staff Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, board members, staff, auditors, vendors, and community stakeholders. Ability to develop and implement operational efficiencies and process improvements.
Work Environment, Conditions and Benefits:
The duty period is 8:00am to 4:00pm during typical school days. The Assistant Director of Finance and Operations may also be present from 4:00-5:00pm on scheduled school meetings days when requested by building administration.

The salary band is generally $55,000-$65,000 annually. ➢
