Job Description

Job Title:
Controller Job Description The Controller is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, treasury support, and operational finance partnership. This role involves close collaboration with plant leadership, corporate finance, operations, and the CFO to ensure accurate reporting, maintain strong controls, enhance cost visibility, and provide timely financial insights to support business decisions. Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Prepare and submit required financial reports to corporate headquarters. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and corporate reporting policies. Support internal and external audit processes. Own and maintain standard cost systems. Analyze cost variances and oversee inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventory. Partner with operations to support cost control and efficiency initiatives. Support capital expenditure analysis related to plant investments. Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes. Track plant performance against budget and explain key variances. Provide financial analysis to support operational decision-making. Ensure strong internal controls over financial reporting and inventory. Oversee tax compliance coordination, including income tax, sales/use tax, and property tax. Monitor updates to accounting and regulatory requirements and implement necessary changes. Coordinate with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings. Monitor cash position and working capital, including AR, AP, and inventory. Support intercompany transactions and cash settlements. Assist the CFO with banking-related activities as needed. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. CPA or CMA preferred. 8-12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience. Minimum 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment. Strong cost accounting experience with knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles. Ability to manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bilingual in Korean is a nice-to-have skill. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Farmington Hills, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $102000.00 - $108200.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
