Job Description

Controller Position Summary The Controller will lead the financial operations for a multi-location, service-based business. This hands-on role is responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, payroll oversight, budgeting, and internal controls while partnering closely with ownership and operational leaders. The Controller plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring compliance across all locations and revenue streams. Key Responsibilities Oversee full-cycle accounting and financial operations across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; manage general ledger, reconciliations, and close processes Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, and employee tax reporting Consolidate and analyze financial results by location and department, providing clear reporting and insights to leadership Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and monitoring performance against budget Ensure accurate tracking of fixed assets, capital expenditures, and diverse revenue streams Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including sales tax Partner with external accountants during year-end close and tax preparation Supervise and support the Office Manager while improving financial processes and workflows Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5-8 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience Experience managing full-cycle accounting in a small to mid-sized business environment Prior experience supervising accounting or administrative staff preferred Multi-location or multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Demonstrated ability to improve accounting systems, internal controls, and financial processes Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for ownership and operational leaders Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities #LI-MS6 #ZRCFS #
