Deputy Finance Director / Deputy Treasurer Full‑Time | Michigan | On‑Site A respected Michigan municipality is seeking an experienced finance professional to serve as its next Deputy Finance Director / Deputy Treasurer . This role supports daily financial operations and provides leadership coverage when the Finance Director/Treasurer is unavailable. About the Role This position offers a mix of hands‑on financial work and supervisory responsibility. You'll oversee key municipal finance functions and supervise the Utility Billing Clerk. Ideal for candidates who enjoy variety, accuracy, and public service. Key Responsibilities Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Support all aspects of the property tax process Process full‑cycle payroll , including tax filings and W‑2s Prepare pension reporting for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution plans Oversee daily cash‑out and reconcile receipts Supervise utility billing and ACH payment processes Assist with employee benefits administration Provide leadership support and act as Finance Director/Treasurer when assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field 3+ years of progressive experience in payroll, property tax, cash handling, or municipal finance Supervisory experience required Knowledge of municipal finance laws and accounting practices Proficiency with BS&A and Microsoft Office Strong communication, accuracy, and organizational skills MiCPT preferred or willingness to obtain Why Apply This role offers stability, meaningful work, and the opportunity to grow into higher‑level municipal finance leadership. Pay:
$61,339.00 - $82,162.00 per year
