Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will work closely with leadership to analyze and deliver essential financial data while contributing to the success of a dynamic, small business environment. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities:

Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making and provide actionable insights to leadership. Oversee financial planning and analysis activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Manage month-end close processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency. Prepare detailed financial reports to communicate performance metrics and trends. Collaborate with payroll processes, with experience in PayCor being a plus. Work directly with one staff member to ensure seamless operations and productivity. Implement process improvements to optimize financial workflows and reporting. Utilize SAP FI and CO modules to maintain accurate financial records and reporting. Perform tasks related to international business operations, adapting to diverse financial requirements. Contribute to the overall management of small business operations, taking on various roles as needed. Proven experience with SAP, including FI and CO modules. Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Ability to manage month-end close processes and ensure accuracy. Familiarity with small business operations, including multitasking and wearing multiple hats. Experience with payroll systems; knowledge of PayCor is an advantage. Excellent analytical and organizational skills to manage complex financial data. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams. Ability to work onsite in Kalamazoo, Michigan, five days a week.
