Job Description

Controller Location:
St. Joseph, Michigan Fully Onsite | $100,000-$120,000 Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a growing organization. This individual will serve as a key financial partner to executive leadership, providing strong reporting, cost analysis, and operational insight to support profitability and long-term growth. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on financial leader with a strong understanding of costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, financial reporting, and business operations . This person should be comfortable collaborating across the organization and helping leadership make informed decisions to accomplish strategic growth goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Provide accurate financial analysis, reporting, and insights to executive leadership. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Oversee and analyze costing, job costs, margins, and profitability . Apply and maintain knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting and project financial performance. Partner closely with leadership and operational teams to identify opportunities for growth, profitability, and process improvement. Develop meaningful financial metrics and reporting to support strategic decision-making. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance staff. Ensure strong internal controls, accurate financial records, and efficient accounting processes. Support leadership in accomplishing short- and long-term business and growth objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience , including leadership experience. Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior-level accounting leadership experience strongly preferred. Strong financial reporting and analytical skills. Hands-on experience with cost accounting and job costing . Strong understanding and experience with percentage-of-completion accounting . Proven ability to lead and develop a team. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to operational and executive leadership. Strategic mindset with the ability to remain hands-on in a growing organization.
