This is a direct-hire position offering a competitive salary. As the Controller, you'll be the financial backbone of the company, overseeing all accounting functions and providing crucial insights to ownership. Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of 3-4 accounting staff members, ensuring accuracy in all financial records, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll. Manage day-to-day cash flow, bank accounts, and lines of credit, and prepare cash forecasts to meet the company's needs. Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and other essential management reports. Coordinate the annual financial audit with an external firm, preparing all necessary documentation. You'll also implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard against fraud. Utilize your knowledge of cost accounting to determine Bills of Material, manufacturing overhead, and labor rates. You'll collaborate with the sales team to set product pricing, calculate profit margins, and prepare customer quotes. This role also includes coordinating both annual and cycle counts of inventory. Oversee the preparation of Sales/Use Tax returns and Federal Excise Tax Form 720. While preparing income tax returns isn't required, a strong understanding of depreciation, business tax credits, and multi-state filings is a plus. You'll also be responsible for creating and managing budgets for the overall company, as well as for specific product lines and manufacturing locations.

Skills:

A strong understanding of different taxes, including concepts like depreciation, business tax credits, and multi-state filings. Direct experience with cost accounting, including establishing and analyzing costs for materials, labor, and overhead. Prior experience working with independent auditing firms and preparing necessary work papers for annual audits.

Inventory Management:

Familiarity with coordinating both annual physical inventory counts and ongoing cycle counts.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in a Controller or similar senior accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and lead a small accounting team.
