Job Description

The City of Cambridge is seeking its next assistant finance director to help lead the finance team and continue the City's history of strong financial practices. Cambridge has received the GFOA Certificate of Excellence in financial reporting each of the last 23 years and is seeking a candidate that is committed maintaining this level of excellence. The person in this role will supervise three staff members, will be involved in organizational budgeting, financial strategy, and will directly oversee activities such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll and benefits administration, utility billing, and fixed asset reporting.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or business with at least three years' experience working for a city or county finance department or senior level accounting experience in the private sector. Preferred qualifications include certification as a CPA, Master's Degree in accounting or finance, and three or more years of human resources management.
