Controller Pathway Talent Partners Hopkins, MN Job Details Full-time $150,000 - $180,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Position Overview Pathway Talent Partners is partnering with a confidential, growth-oriented organization to identify a Controller who will serve as a key financial leader within the business. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, and delivering insights that support strategic decision-making and long-term growth. The Controller will play a central role in strengthening financial integrity, enhancing operational efficiency, and developing a high-performing accounting team. This leader will also drive internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes, operating with a high level of precision, professionalism, and business partnership. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead all core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing clear insights to support executive leadership Own the annual budgeting process, including ongoing forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling Design, implement, and maintain strong internal control frameworks to safeguard assets and ensure audit readiness Partner closely with executive leadership to align financial strategy with organizational goals and growth initiatives Oversee cash flow management to ensure optimal liquidity and financial health Manage relationships with external partners including auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions Perform Work-in-Progress (WIP) analysis to support accurate revenue recognition and project costing Leverage accounting systems to enhance reporting, visibility, and efficiency Identify and drive process improvements to scale the finance function and improve accuracy Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members to foster a high-performance culture Support additional financial and operational initiatives as needed Leadership & Oversight Provide hands-on leadership and direction to the accounting team Build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment Drive continuous improvement across people, processes, and systems Skills & Competencies Strong foundation in GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights for non-financial stakeholders Proven cross-functional collaboration and executive communication skills Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and organizational ability Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required CPA strongly preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated leadership Prior Controller experience preferred (or 5+ years as an Accounting Manager) Experience in construction, project-based, or building services environments highly desirable Demonstrated success managing audits, financial reporting, and WIP schedules
