In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, ensuring the organization maintains accurate financial records and adheres to regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, regulatory frameworks, and financial analysis, driving strategic financial planning and safeguarding assets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence organizational success through expert financial stewardship and innovative management practices. Duties Manage the organization's accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Oversee financial report writing, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to maintain precise financial records. Lead internal controls implementation and monitor compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations and other regulatory reporting requirements. Coordinate external audits and ensure adherence to governmental accounting standards for nonprofit or public sector entities. Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relationships. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations. Prepare budgets, perform variance analysis, and support strategic planning initiatives through detailed financial analysis. Ensure accurate account reconciliation and double entry bookkeeping practices across all financial systems. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as debits & credits, regulatory changes, and industry best practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Extensive experience in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or nonprofit finance environments. Strong understanding of
GAAP, IFRS, SOX
compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting standards. Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools; experience with financial management software is essential. Demonstrated expertise in balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, cash management, and financial report writing. Knowledge of technical accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping and debits & credits. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for strategic decision-making. Familiarity with budgeting processes and forecasting techniques to support organizational growth. Strong attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving regulatory landscapes while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
