Millersburg, MO Job Details Full-time 2 days ago Qualifications Master's degree in accounting CPA Overseeing compliance functions Master's degree in finance Data interpretation Full Job Description The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and internal controls for all areas of the business. This role ensures accurate and timely financial information is available to support operational decision making and maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This is accomplished through management of the accounting staff and implementation of best-in-class accounting practices as well as partnering with project managers, and external stakeholders including auditors, tax specialists, and banking partners. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Controller provides financial leadership and insight to support the company's profitability, growth, and long-term success. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, including reporting.
  • Manage project accounting functions including job cost reporting, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and revenue recognition for construction and fabrication divisions.
  • Review and analyze projections against actual results.
  • Maintain accurate equipment cost allocations and utilization reporting.
  • Ensure adequate cash flow for the organization's current operations and future growth.
  • Oversee collections, billing, and accounts receivable management.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide feedback to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Assist executive leadership in evaluating capital expenditures, acquisitions, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial dashboards.
  • Oversee the relationship with independent auditors
  • Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance personnel.
  • Oversee fixed asset program
  • Ensure the Accounting department enacts and communicates financial best practices to all levels of the organization, across departments and divisions Qualifications and Education
  • 7 years or more of accounting or finance experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management role
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, MCA or CCIFP required
  • Heavy civil, infrastructure, roadway, bridge, utility, or earthwork construction experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with equipment accounting and fleet cost management.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista, or similar construction accounting systems.
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
