Full Job Description Description:
The Director of Finance & Operations is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization's finance, accounting, human resources, and operational functions. Reporting to executive leadership, this position ensures financial stability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and effective people practices while supporting organizational growth and long-term success. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Accounting Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities. Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, tax filings, and internal controls. Prepare and present financial reports, analyses, and recommendations to executive leadership and governing boards. Manage banking relationships, investments, and financial risk management activities. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations. Evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability. Operations & Human Resources Oversee payroll, employee benefits administration, compensation processes, and HR compliance. Support recruitment, onboarding, employee development, and retention initiatives. Develop, maintain, and improve employee policies, procedures, and operational processes. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including payroll, benefits, accounting, IT, legal, and facilities partners. Oversee office operations, facilities, equipment, technology, and administrative functions. Supervise and develop operations staff while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture. Strategic Leadership, Compliance, & Reporting Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, and operational improvements. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and performance metrics to support organizational goals. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and regulatory obligations. Support board and committee reporting, meeting preparation, and financial oversight activities. Manage contracts, vendor performance, and organizational compliance initiatives. Lead special projects and continuous improvement efforts across finance, operations, and administration.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced credentials preferred. Significant experience in finance, accounting, operations, or organizational leadership. Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, internal controls, and compliance. Experience overseeing human resources, payroll, benefits administration, and vendor management. Strong understanding of accounting systems, financial software, and operational processes. Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop, and manage teams. Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and build strong relationships with stakeholders. Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace culture.
