Job Description

Assistant ControllerPosition OverviewThe Assistant Controller will support plant and corporate finance leadership by managing all financial activities within the manufacturing plants, ensuring accurate reporting, strong cost control, and compliance with corporate accounting standards. This role partners closely with operations to drive profitability, optimize manufacturing costs, and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities include financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, and operational financial support.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the plants in accordance with GAAP and corporate standards.

Maintain accurate general ledger and cost accounting records.

Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, variances, margins, and cost drivers.

Perform standard cost updates and ensure accurate product costing.

Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with plant operations.

Lead the annual budgeting process for the plants and support rolling forecasts and variance analysis.

Provide financial insights, scenario modeling, and operational analysis to plant leadership.

Ensure adherence to internal control policies and support audit coordination and corrective actions.

Support capital expenditure projects with ROI analysis and financial justification.

Partner with operations leadership to improve efficiency, profitability, and financial performance.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.5+ years of experience in manufacturing finance or cost accounting; prior plant Assistant Controller experience strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of cost accounting and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.

Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.

Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate across functions.
