Job Description

Plant Controller A client of ours is looking for a Plant Controller for a contract role to oversee all accounting and financial operations at the plant level. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintains effective internal controls, and supports operational leadership with financial insights that drive performance, cost management, and strategic decision-making. The Plant Controller partners closely with plant leadership to improve financial efficiency, monitor key performance indicators, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities of Plant ControllerExecute timely and accurate monthly close processes, ensuring financial integrityPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAPLead and coordinate the annual financial audit with external auditorsOversee inventory accounting, ensuring accuracy of physical inventory and valuationPartner with plant operations to track KPIs, support cost reduction efforts, and drive operational efficienciesDevelop, implement, and monitor internal controls and accounting policiesAnalyze financial trends, costs, revenues, and variances to support forecasting and planningDevelop annual budgets and monitor performance against forecastsPrepare financial forecasts, business reports, and ad hoc analyses for leadership decision-makingOversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AR/AP, invoicing, procurement, and payrollEnsure payroll transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in the general ledgerManage outsourced services including payroll and tax functionsEnsure timely and accurate filing and payment of state and federal taxesIdentify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiencySupervise and mentor accounting staff and support team developmentCommunicate financial performance and recommendations to senior leadership
