"The Hive" Rewards Program Position Overview HoneyGrove Dispensary is seeking a full-time Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of the organization. This role reports directly to the CEO and Chairman of the Board and will play a critical role in financial management, reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and strategic growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Accounting Manage and supervise a small accounting team (1-2 employees). Oversee weekly accounting functions, including: Cash flow management Accounts payable Payroll processing Lead and execute a disciplined monthly financial close process. Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial reports for management and the Board of Directors. Retail Operations & Internal Controls Administer and manage retail POS systems to ensure accurate transaction recording and reporting. Design, implement, and maintain internal controls related to cash handling and retail operations. Ensure financial data integrity across all operating entities. Intercompany Accounting & Consolidations Reconcile all intercompany accounts, including: Loans Accounts payable Accounts receivable Prepare monthly invoices to affiliated entities for products and services provided. Allocate management company expenses across operating entities as appropriate. Consolidate financial statements for all related entities and ensure intercompany balances are fully reconciled and eliminated. Tax & Compliance Prepare, file, and remit monthly sales tax returns. Coordinate with external accounting and tax advisors regarding tax compliance, planning, and financial reporting matters. Financial Analysis & Reporting Develop and maintain KPI reporting, including: Sales performance Gross profit Net profit SKU and product-level profitability Analyze financial statements and performance metrics for potential acquisition targets. Prepare financial models and pro forma analyses for new business opportunities and expansion initiatives. Budgeting & Strategic Planning Lead the annual budgeting process. Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analyses. Support executive leadership with strategic financial planning and decision-making. Qualifications Required Minimum 5+ years of retail accounting or finance experience Strong knowledge of: Financial reporting General accounting principles Cash management Internal controls Advanced proficiency in: QuickBooks Online Microsoft Excel Experience with multi-entity accounting and financial consolidations Preferred Certified Public Accountant ( CPA ) designation Experience in the cannabis, retail, franchise, or multi-location business environment
